The RDKB is seeking an experienced operations-focused senior leader. This is a dynamic and critical role for the RDKB, serving diverse communities across the region.
Reporting to the Chief Administration Officer, this position provides strategic leadership and support to a wide range of operational services and oversight to several departments including Planning and Development, Building Inspection, Recreation and Facilities, Fire and Protective Services, Victim Services, and Transit.
This role is based in our head office in Trail, BC, home to the regional hospital and airport. With abundant mountains, lakes and rivers, this area offers some of the most incredible recreational opportunities in the world. The required knowledge, skills and abilities for this position include:
- A post-secondary degree, preferably a Masters degree, in community and regional planning; public administration; or a related field
- Eight to ten years of public sector management experience
- Minimum 5 years experience working in local government
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Thorough knowledge of local government law and contract law
- Experience managing personnel in a unionized environment

Compensation: $157,685 - $174,283
